AU Graduation Requirements

 

1.  A total of 21 Carnegie Units or credits are required to graduate from AU.  Credits must be distributed as follows:

 

English                   4 Units; 1 ea. in Eng. 9, Eng. 10, Eng. 11, & Eng. 12

Foreign Lang.        2 Units

Math                      4  Units (includes Alg. 1)

Science                  4 Units (must include Biology and Chemistry)

Social Studies        4 Units (1 World Hist., 1 US Hist., .5 US Gov’t, & .5 Economics)

Fine Arts                1 Unit (music, art, dance, or drama)

Physical Ed.          .5 Unit (2 semesters @ .25 each)

Health                    .5 Unit (1 semester)

Elective                  1 Unit

2. OGT……Students must also pass all five sections of the Ohio Graduation Test (Writing, Reading, Mathematics, Citizenship and Science).

 

3.  Meet all deadlines/guidelines:

Seniors must have completed all credit/course requirements by May 1.

Seniors must have cleared all financial obligations by May 1.

Seniors must attend the mandatory practices to participate in the graduation exercise.

Seniors must wear the approved cap and gown in the graduation ceremony.

 

Senior Tip:

 ATTENDANCE IS A CRITICAL FACTOR in graduation eligibility, because it is the single biggest reason for course failure. If you want to graduate, be present every day, every class.
